Today is ?? of CNY. It has been quite a preparation for this coming year. Life has been moving in such a sense that it’s steering me to do what I’m supposed to do.
This year is supposed to be another normal year for me but since I’m partnering with some awesome partners. And all if not all my partners are going to have great luck this coming dragon year. So I’ll be riding some of their luck too. I hope this will in a sense even out and bring more luck to me and my business.
There has been many incidents during the past year that gives me quite a number of headache to solve. But i just find them all to be trials and tribulations given to me by the higher powers and gods to test my resolve. I know I will still be having some during the course of my life. But I hope I have proven myself for the small initial part to get some rewards for myself. Gods have indeed gave me some light and direction to my life. For this, I’m really grateful of it.
So I have no regrets about what I did in the past. All I need is actually learn from any mistakes and not to do it again.
Well, I wish you will also have a prosperous and great dragon year ahead.

Today is the end of Chinese New Year called Yuan Xiao. Because of this, my ex-boss, Kim, asked me if I wanted to work or not for this event. Since I was having a bit of free time and also wanted to catch up with him and maybe Kenny, I agreed to work today.
So I was there at the Tian Fu Gong at Telok Ayer street. This event was held by the Hokkien Association of Singapore.
I was supposed to be the in-charge for firing the confetti cannons which marks the start and the end of the celebration. The first cue was good, but the second cue when I have to wait for the white colorful dragon to go off wasn’t timed accurately. Because there wasn’t any cue signal that I can follow and luckily Kim was around to see that the dragon was going off and told me to fire. Else I think it will just go off without my confetti shots.
The event was supposed to start at 7pm but it kind of dragged as usual… to 8pm before the actual performance starts. And I hadn’t had dinner at that time yet…
Well, overall the performance was only okay, not that fantastic and with some cockups… Saw that there’s some communication lags that caused the cockups..
Hmm… after the work, it just pack up and go. But I’m really tired after everything because I have not been doing these kind of “siong” activities except for exercising. Last I did was last year. Hmm…am I getting weak? Damn… need to train up once again. Nevermind, it will give me more energy. :D
Yesterday we went to Ms Chong’s place for our annual visit during the CNY period. I was really unsure about the attendance of who will going to turn up during this visit.
Because it’s really quite a small group last year with most of them working or too busy. So this year, as usual, is me who’s organising the whole gathering again.
Never did I expected so many people to turn up. Ryan turned up! He’s like one of those who we haven’t met up since we graduated and is now a pilot for RSAF. And Kristel too whom I’ve met up since our last gathering. Then the rest are usual with Jiayan, Chee Tiong, Kwok Fai, Zheng Kai and Chiau Khean who came back from China. Jiayan just came back from Dubai too. Then Zheng Kai cut his hair back to those like in the school days.
Was really good to have met them up. Catch up with them and reminiscene about the old school days, complained about work, etc. hahahaha.
Took a photo.
Well, after that I went on to join Dewei, Gavin, Cyber and Khew for a short session of KTV at Liang Court Party World till 10 pm. Sang some songs but not so much even though I was in choir before. haha
Then after a while, Kristel joined us to sing too. Had dinner at TCC clarke quay or rather supper bah. Then we went on separate ways. Gavin and Cyber went home while Khew, Dewei and me went over to Arena to find Kristel and her friends.
Went in and was enjoying the club’s R&B music. Asked Kristel and her friends to help us take drinks as that night was ladies free flow will midnight, so it makes absolute common sense to ask them to take. Down a couple before midnight then was surprised to find Leonard there with his friends too! Think they’re having a guy’s night then asked them to join us but they wouldn’t budged.
Enjoyed the rest of the night dancing after finishing another jug of beer.
hmm… all in all I wasn’t feeling myself though… weird feeling I had… like I wasn’t really enjoying the party within my inner self.
Ivy’s invited me to her house for CNY steamboat and celebration today. I told her that I would be late because of work. Well, in the end yup I was late… quite late… hahaha
Went there together with Luis after his work. Su-ann and her bf came after we’ve reached and Kangwei and the rest was playing mahjong as usual. But he left soon after we started on eating the steamboat which they left some food for us. Did our usual catching up during the steamboat and Daniel kept complaining about not touching any food because he’s sick… (hmm… maybe it’s just a convenient excuse for him not to eat too much :P hahahah)
After eating, Chris started to jio the rest for mahjong or blackjack which in the end, the rest except for me played. We played till around 12 plus before everyone complained saying that need to work tomorrow morning so need to go back and rest early.
Today went for visiting at my uncle’s place at Pasir Ris… it’s so far from Clementi… Finally when we reached there, saw one of my aunts and went together with them taking a bus.
Saw all of my aunts and uncles from my maternal side and gotten the usual “ang baos” as like a bonus like that. Wonder if the crisis will affect greatly on the amount inside or not.
My dad and brother stayed at home to entertain the paternal side of my relatives who will be coming to visit us at our home. Which I have not been seeing them for like 2 years since I was like the representative for my maternal side.
Well, all went well. Nothing special happened except that my mum went on to try out the Osim message chair that my uncle has and she felt damn good after the session. Guess she’s going to buy one for herself then.
Today’s Chinese New Year Eve, hmm… another year is going to pass soon and I’m getting older and wiser :D Joshua and Derek wanted to go to Chinatown to watch the fireworks and walk the streets at night. Initially, I was quite hesistant about going thinking that there might be a lot of people, but I went in the end.
But it was after my family’s steamboat dinner at home which I opened another bottle of red wine, and drank almost half the bottle by myself because the rest of my family doesn’t drink that much. I was actually even tempting my almost 3 years old nephew to drink a bit hehe :P because if he drank some, I’m sure he will be sleeping quite soundly for the night.
Well, was at chinatown and there is indeed a lot of people. But Derek and Joshua commented that it wasn’t as many as compared to last year. I should guess it’s the financial crisis that caused people to be stuck at home.
Saw the fireworks, wasn’t as spectacular as I anticipated since I’ve done fireworks before during my Uni days. Went around the normal usual chinatown shops with the goods prices dropping sharply after midnight. Then went to take a look at some potted plants which Joshua was asking me to get a pot too, especially the cherry blossoms (Tao Hua) to boost my luck with women. hahaha. Wasn’t even thinking about that.. was thinking more about how to get that pot back if I were to get it rather.
All went well except for the sudden rain that caught most of people in the rain. We stayed till the rain turned into a drizzle before we went back.
