Christmas House Party – Orchard Scotts Residence

Yesterday was Christmas and I really had fun last night with Zoe, Caecilia, Luis, Daniel and many more others at the Orchard Scotts Residence which we rented for X’mas celebration.

I had already anticipated that it will be another drinking session there with Zoe already preparing us beforehand with promises of giving out plastic bags as door gifts for us to puke. Lol.. that’s really thoughtful of her not to mess up the room.

Well, Luis as the usual nice guy, came to fetch us (Daniel, Caecilia, Me, Phyills and her bf) at around 11 but by the time we reached orchard, the road was jammed… At one moment in time, we thought we’re going to celebrate our X’mas in the car trapped in the Orchard road. But Luis as usual “cutting lane” king did some stunts and we’re able to make it in time to the place.

I remembered that the room was really beautiful, almost like a hotel setting with the exception of a kitchen. It have 2 rooms – a master and a guest. Saw some new faces that are friends of Zoe’s and her brother. Saw a shisha which they’re smoking and plenty of vodkas on the table. Well, one more from me too :p hahaha

As soon as we popped those party poppers at the stroke of midnight, the “real” drinking starts…. Zoe went around asking us to drink and bottoms up with wine, vodkas, or some other hard liquors which I can’t really remember. Unfortunately, I was also one of her targets… haha. Well, we had good fun, drinking, talking, basically just enjoying ourselves and the night.

But I guessed I really had too much of a drink last night… was really a horrible feeling… gotten a hangover this morning and can’t really recalled what happened after I plonked down onto the bed… hahaha… it’s like some lost memories that I won’t be able to recall no matter what. Had my fair share of hugging the toilet bowl and puking… phew… coming to think of it… that’s really gross… luckily it wasn’t captured on candid camera by Zoe. So people, don’t drink too much. It’s really a “not so good” feeling…

Well, anyway really had fun and it was my first time attending a house party with such great company! Really appreciate them as my friends :D

Wait! I’ve got some photos taken by Zoe

Okie… gotta rest my head (still groggy… @_@) now…. ciao…

Standard Charter Marathon Finisher

On sunday, just ran the ultimate race in my life again. A challenging 42.195km marathon. This is my second marathon and I ran with Jack.

Even before that night we were like still doing our work before we went to sleep. Woke up late or rather at 4am, then dilly dally a bit… almost forgotten that we need to pick up Geng Hui from West Coast :P

Realized that it was quite late when it was like 4.40am and the race is starting at 5.30am and we’re still at Jurong West… Lol.

When I sat in the car, I had the ride of my life again since the drifting experience in Malaysia. We were going at 213km/h (which is the top speed), and managed to pick up Geng Hui at 4.50am at West Coast and then reach Capitol Centre carpark by 5am and park the car.

Just nice, we went to the starting line and immediately started the race.

Beforehand, we had already strategize on how to conquer this race without much training. We thought we had one of the most hilarious strategies though. We walked for the first 5km where everyone else was like running with their full energy. We walked like this was a walkathon rather than a marathon. LOL.

I guess we were almost to the last few before we started to jog towards our mid-point GOAL – PowerGel. Because we knew by then we should be “dead” by around 20-22km…so needed that extra boost of energy. Lucky me, I’ve gotten 1 more extra powergel. Hee :p

Well, we saw that champion kenyan runner ran past us. I was comparing his leg size to my arms and I was so surprised that my arms was actually bigger than his legs… :-0

Ok… fast forward all those parts where we drank our beloved cold but diluted 100plus… that tasted so heavenly under those conditions. Saw some super cars from Ferrari at the F1 Grandstand. Think they had some opening or something. It’s quite a distraction for me instead of worrying about how to complete the run when I was reaching 39km.

Endurance and perseverance had to be the key elements that I used to complete this challenging run. But the most sucky thing is that we were planning to hit Sub-6 hours and calculated even down right to the minute. And today when we checked our timing… we were like WTH…. I clocked 6 hours and 2 secs… 2 miserably seconds and Jack gotten even worse… he gotten 6 hours 1 sec. Really blasted!

But nevertheless, I’ve improved even though I didn’t trained much for this run. So I must say I’m really blessed and fortunate. Hee.

So sometimes, with the right strategy and with some training and hard work, you can still improve on something – a skill, expertise etc.

Below are just some of the photos which I took from the official standard charter site.

Standard Charter Marathon Training

Yesterday night, Geng Hui, Jack and me went to Pandan reservoir to train for Standard Charter marathon next sunday. It was around 11.30pm when we reach there.

So we went around before parking at a HDB flat near the reservoir and went over there. Did our warm ups and then started our training. Jack and me were a crazy bunch :D because we were basically role playing the “takan” jogging session that our sergeants had with us in our army days.

Then I guess we were too bored and started recalling some of the army songs and even started singing some of them. Just felt so nostalgic since it’s been 4 years passed since we’re out of the army. Time really flies man.

Then Geng Hui used his IPhone to track our running route on how many kilometres that we’ve covered. You can take a look at his GPS route even though I saw that there’s one line cutting right across the reservoir. So it’s either us running through the reservoir which is technically impossible although after the run, we looked like we swam across :P or the GPS just goes hay-wire… hahaha. Well, to each his own imagination.

It was really a tiring but fulfilling run, around 20 km altogether. I’m thirsty, hungry and tired… I haven’t had this kind of feeling for a very long time man. It’s just AWESOME! :D (This doesn’t mean that I like to “torture” myself though :p)

Car Crash – The Day When Public Transport Came Back Into My Life

On 3rd August 2008 is the day when the days of public transport came back into my life. I had been driving for 4 years and more on the Nissan Sunny which my dad bought it. And this morning I crashed it and totally wrecked it beyond repair…

Last night, I was at Jack’s place as we had to rush a client’s project. So though it was somewhat last minute but we managed to complete a major part of it when dawn came. So for me, I had promised Dewei that we will be going jogging at East Coast Park to train up for our Army Half Marathon(AHM).

So before I left I was still awake despite that I did not sleep a wink the previous night. It was such an unlucky day that when I got down, both Jack and me gotten a carpark summon each of $100. I was so depressed because of that and I called him to let him know about it.

So I went on my way to meet Dewei. I was still ok when after a while I suddenly felt tired. But I tried to keep my mind awake by singing along the song that was playing on my car radio. But after the Clementi exit along PIE, I knew I was tired but I’m not too sure what got into me that I still want to meet Dewei. Maybe because my personality is that I always fulfil my promises no matter how hard and impossible it may get.

So I drove on and the next instant I knew was that I saw my engine was smoking and my car had crashed into the central divider. I was already panicking as I thought the engine would caught fire and I will be trapped inside the car because my driver’s side door is jammed too… I was thinking how to stop the smoke and immediately I thought of switching off the engine and get out.

I stick my hand to the keys and switch the engine off and tried to open the door but to no avail… it was jammed. Then I opened the door latch and used my shoulders to ram open the door and finally it opened and I staggered out, almost losing my balance and hitting my head against the central divider.

I looked at the damage immediately and I was shocked to the extent of it. A rush of emotions flowed into me but I was in shock and there was no one to turn to. Luckily 2 motorists stopped by and asked if I’m okay. I called Jack next and told him what happened… and I did ask him for the NTUC insurance tow truck services number to call.

Within 15 mins, he was here with me and inspecting the damages. By then, the EMAS have already had their tow truck ready before they had to change as it coincide with their change of shift. The Cisco came and asked me if I needed ambulance or not but I declined.

I’m really glad to have a friend like Jack to help me. Even though he was also tired from the lack of sleep, he still fetch me to and fro from different places i.e. from turf city carpark to the garage, to my house and even to my gf’s house.

I would like to say my appreciation to you, Jack my friend. Thank you very much!

After everything, I kept blaming myself until Jack reminded me that I was really lucky that I was not lying in a hospital by now as the extend of the damage is quite serious. Well, I should be really thanking god and my good blessings that I survived a major car crash.

I have put up some of the pictures taken by Jack when he came.

Personal Power II – Day 1 Experience

It’s been long since I updated my blog and a lot have happened since I found my first job. I finally started to get the hang of having a job and learning about my job i.e. settling down into the job phase. This is totally a clueless experience as I am not familiar with everything in my department.

As I am a marketing trained person, naturally I am well versed in marketing terminology but not the IT terminology which I am in. For those who is still clueless about what I do, basically I am in an IT department in a company which supplies one-third of electricity to Singapore. So in a sense, servers, applications, etc seems to be the norm terminology for them but I’m still grasping them like a real newbie.

Well, that’s for my working experience till now.

Then me and Jack also started a business together called Intrillion. We have started picking up speed on the things we want to achieve. Then Weilih also joined us together and that makes the three of us working on a single goal.

We have also gotten a virtual office at Suntec at the Penthouse level which is the top floor of Suntec itself with a marvellous city view.

So right now, we are considering getting a grant from the government since I can still use my graduate status to apply for one.

I can say my life have become more busy with this new addition. I am literally working round the clock and sleep to me has become a luxury which is taken for granted by others. Sometimes, I just thought to myself that I have neglected my bed… haha that’s such a weird thought.

Well, busy is a good thing because it just means that I’m improving in my life yay :)

Yes, we have been meeting some clients to get some projects so that we can start work and make money. If you guys want a website to be marketed, or have a friend or someone/some company in mind who has a website to be marketed, please do not hesitate to call me at my mobile at 9862 1579.

So today I went to my office gym as usual but one thing that differs is that I brought in the Personal Power II into the gym to listen while I exercise. Today is day 1 of Personal Power II and just listening to Anthony Robbins speaking in his audio energizes me because he speaks with energy, passion and enthusiasm.

This is really great because I have already recognized him as a life coach for me personally. So whatever he told me to do in the audio itself, I will definitely do my best to fulfill them.

Today I will need to do two items which I have been putting off a long time and yes, I will do it which is updating this blog and managing all the rest of the projects on hand. Plus, showing more care and concern for my girlfriend and asking her out for a dinner.

But I must say if you have personal power II, it will actually be very good to helping you to achieve the goals that you want. If you don’t have, try to get it soon. I really believe in it and would really recommend to anyone who wants to improve his/her life whether it be financial, mentally, health, success, or just being happier.

Well, stay on to my blog soon as I will keep you posted on my day 2 of personal power II tomorrow.

Working Life For 2 Weeks

Well, being new to the working work since joining the workforce for only 2 weeks. I am starting to see why so many people detest working, especially working for bosses. It really does not matter if the bosses are nice but if they are bad, you will absolutely hate the job itself.

So there are many external factors that will contribute to your job satisfaction level. Don’t mind me but after 2 weeks of work, I can say I’m quite satisfied with what my job is all about. I have been learning all about business processes which are the internal workings of an organization and how they basically work.

But one thing that really bothers me is that my office is just too quiet… no one is really communicating much. Everyone is hard at work and doing their own work. I, being the usual self, needs at least some interaction else I would really go crazy at times. It just seems to me that they are like robots without much interaction. Well, pardon me if I offended anyone who loves a quiet environment to work. But for me it is just too much as I am quite a sociable person but faced with such “lifeless” environment, even the most lively person would just blend in and continue working.

So I guess it has it’s pros and cons. But for me, it is really great as my office has a gym. Although it’s kind of small with only a couple of miserable weights, two treadmills, and a cycling machine, it will suffice for me as I know other static exercises which can be performed without the use of weights. One great thing about this gym is that it is situated at sixteenth floor and I had the grandest view of all. I can absolutely see the whole of Singapore PSA, Sentosa, our CBD city skyline and Mount Faber with their slow moving cable cars. Best of all is the sea that I can see.

So who can complain much with this kind of view when you are working out. Plus, I have the whole gym to myself with the TV to horde too :)

So it was great for these two weeks of working life. I have another 50 more weeks before my contract ends. That really sounds great! Just 50 only.

Okay, guess I won’t have much time to update for the time being as I will be going for my reservist tomorrow which is to serve the army yet again. But for only one week. So see ya soon after my one week of training.

Please feel free to add comments to my blog. I really welcome comments from my readers. :)
